Good for you, and you don’t have to spend much to make a big impact. If you take a lunch to school, don’t use plastic wrap and brown bags, use reusable. When you go shopping bring a bag from home for your purchases. When you take a shower, cut it as short a time as possible, and turn off the water while your lathering etc. Clothing bought second time around makes a huge impact on landfills and you can get twice as much for the same amount of $$$ Just being aware of waste and ways to change it will bring you lots of ways you personally can help erase your carbon foot print.

You do not have to spend money to get involved in protecting the environment. You can make money. Recycle aluminum. It is one of the most important materials to recycle and you can recycle it at centers that pay you for it. It takes 95% more energy to create aluminum from ore that it does to recycle it. The most important thing you need to know is be very wary of all the green hype and lies you hear. That may be where you heard you need to spend money. Ignore anything you hear from Al Gore, Hollywood, Nickelodeon TV. They are lying to you. Did you know at the last presidential inauguration there were over 600 private jets that show up there. How green is that ? Al Gore has his own private jet. How green is that ? Al has made over 400 million dollars off his green efforts, that is the green Al is worried about, money not the environment. Then the whole compact fluorescent thing. They contain mercury. In ten years time there will be an environmental disaster with all that mercury in the landfills. That we can solve it website is full of lies and anything GE and NBC TV do is not green its based on how much money they can make. Like their carbon trading hype, its just so they can sell that technology. The whole CO2 thing is all hype. Humans expire more CO2 that do the manufacturers. They never say anything about methane gas which is 25 times more powerful as a green house gas than carbon dioxide and its the leading contributer to the green house effect. So, you need to do you own research and not fall for the Green Hysteria that comes from Hollywood and others.
